I will be at the first practice on July 28th at 6pm. I will actually be there at 5:30, that way you have time to custom fit your child before practice begins. (If I run out, I will also be there before practice on the 29th and possibly on the 30th as well.) I designed a new $19.99 - $29.99 Rib Protector that has gotten nothing but positive responses from every coach (from youth league thru college) and parent that I've shown it to. With our Universal Mounting System, it can be attached to absolutely ANY and ALL brands of shoulder pads! Unlike the expensive bolt-on rib protectors (which are only available for a handful of shoulder pads).
Our Rib Protector is also infinitely height adjustable, basically giving you all the benefits of a bolt-on Rib Protector, without the bolt-on cost (nor the risk bolt-on versions have of actually shearing off the Shoulder Pads). Our height adjustable rib protector is far superior to the 'shirt' style which hang down the same distance from the shoulders, no matter how tall or short the player is. On most players, the shirt style never ends up in the right position; either hanging way too low down at their hips, or hanging up far too high, sometimes even laying under the player's shoulder pads.
Ours is also extremely light and the coolest wearing Rib Protector on the market. The soft inner fabric is both breathable and contains a 'wicking' finish that draws sweat away from the body, while the outer fabric is an open and lightweight mesh. Even the impact foam itself is perforated, which improves impact protection, breathability, comfort, and flexibility, while still reducing weight.
There are basic models available (which you can also see on our website):
-StealthFlex - Standard model with full set of protective plastic plates on top of the foam, which is .5-.6 inches thick.
-TrimFlex - Thinnest model, but with the same full set of plates; .3-.4 inch thick foam.
-Stealth+ - Most comfortable model, with the same foam thickness as StealthFlex, but with only the Back Plate (no Plates on the sides), with .5-.6 inch thick foam.
-We also have more Adult models (besides those above), offering thicker foam, and/or molded plates, for even more protection.
Perhaps the best thing about our Rib Protectors is that even with all these features, the youth sizes from $19.99 - $24.99, while the Adult sizes are $24.99 - $29.99 (tax incl. on both).
